Due to the Global COVID19 pandemic many events including the Olympic games, the Eurovision Song Contest and the London Marathon had to be cancelled.
The United Kingdom, along with many countries around the world had to face new challenges in these unprecedented times. Many people are unsure and worried at how things will pan out.
Initially it was thought that Peterhead Scottish Week would got the same way had it not been for the quick thinking committee. For the 59th event in July 2020 Scottish Week will go virtual, with a host of online events to entertain families in lockdown.
Whilst the committee are still to finalise how this will work, they hope to make some annoucements in the coming weeks. They have had to adapt, as many have, to the new norm by conducting their regular meetings via ‘Zoom’ calls. One thing they’ve agreed on is to have Scottish Week in 2020!
Therefore a Scottish Week of sorts will go ahead and this means that the 60th continuous event will take place in Summer 2021.
Keep you eyes open for more news to come. In the meantime #KeepSafe
