The dates for next year’s ‘Peterhead Scottish Week’ have just been announced – AND are earlier than usual. The event will run for nine days next July but the dates have been brought forward compared to the traditional ‘third Saturday in July’ start date.
The committee have announced that the 63rd edition will take place between Saturday 12th to Sunday 20th July. The move of ‘the week’ was discussed in great detail at a recent committee meeting and gives the organisers a chance to approach pipe bands that would otherwise be competing at championships, and to minimise the impact of the ‘Tall Ships Races’ Days in Aberdeen, which is set to be the biggest event in Scotland next year.
‘Peterhead Scottish Week’, like this year, will kick start the celebrations with its annual ‘Carnival Parade. This will take place on Saturday 12th July. The popular ‘Truck & Van Show’ will take place on Saturday 19th July.
As dates have been brought forward, it will mean that many details from third party events, as well as advertisers for the programme will need to be in place in plenty of time.
More events will be announced in due course, so please keep an eye on the ‘Scottish Week’ social media channels.
